Reporters have been covering the arrest of Congress Leader Jim Wright today. He is being held on charges of murdering his wife, perjury and obstruction of justice. The murder of Congresswoman Kitty Denny Hagan happened in Washington D.C. back in 1990. She was beaten to death inside her home by a hit man known as Mark Goldsberry. Goldsberry was tried and convicted of murder but was acquitted by the Supreme Court. He then turned and killed himself.
Recently Congress Leader Jim Wright has announced he would step down as leader. This comes after the arrest of former President George Walker Bush for driving with a suspended license in Texas. Walker is now being held in jail awaiting trial on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and intoxication. It is not clear if he will remain prime minister or governor of Texas.
Many people think that the leadership of the Congress is too closely connected to the Bush Administration. Many people also believe that because both men are from Florida they are perhaps trying to grease the wheels for the upcoming election. Whatever the case, this isn’t good for the country and the democratic system of government. The leaders of Congress have to make sure they do everything in their power to protect the American people and the American flag. They also need to do what they can to keep our soldiers safe.
As the leader of the United States, they have the responsibility to insure our troops are safe. If a member of Congress allows our soldiers to be murdered by enemy combatants, then that member of Congress has to resign. That’s not the way our system of government works. We don’t allow members of Congress to take orders from hostile foreign governments.
The head of the Republican Party in the state of Mississippi and a candidate for president of the United States of America, Mr. Bobby Rush is under investigation for accepting campaign cash from an Iran-Contra contractor. This is a huge issue in Mississippi and the upcoming elections. Should the leadership of the Congressmen take a look at how they are allowing this to happen? Maybe it’s time for a change. Please consider all this.
